Faiza Rashid’s journey is a testament to resilience, hope, and unwavering dedication as a refugee from Kurdistan. Arriving in the United States at age 18 after growing up in a refugee camp with no formal education, she faced the daunting challenge of starting over in a new country. Through determination and hard work, she completed high school while adapting to a new language and culture.
Guided by a passion for helping others, she pursued a nursing degree and spent 15 years working as a Registered Nurse. Throughout these years, she balanced the demands of her career with raising five children, welcoming each one while working, attending school, and caring for her household.
Motivated by a desire to make an even greater impact, she returned to school and earned a Master’s degree in Nursing from Tennessee State University. With the support of her family and a strong sense of purpose, she went on to co-found Amed Family Clinic in Nashville. Today, she continues to serve the community as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Amed Family Clinic, providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families.
Her story is one of perseverance, love, and the belief that with hard work and determination, even the greatest challenges can be overcome.
