Dr. Berthena Nabaa-McKinney is a former principal and MNPS teacher who has spent the last 25+ years in education and is currently serving as the founder and CEO of Nabaa Consulting, LLC, an educational consulting and management firm specializing in school improvement and turnaround work for schools and districts across the nation. Her career has focused on improving the educational outcomes for students, especially in our most underserved, marginalized and under-resourced communities. Berthena served as the principal of Nashville International Academy and received her doctorate in Leadership and Professional Practice at Trevecca Nazarene University. In August of 2022, she became the first Muslim elected to a school board in Tennessee, serving as the district 4 board member for Metro Nashville Public School.
