The Muslim community in Nashville had two opportunities to hear from the candidates and talk with them at AMAC’s Meet the Candidates at the Islamic Center of Tennessee on June 23, 2019 and at the Muslim American Cultural Center on July 20, 2019. Over 20 candidates attended each event which included candidates for mayor, vice-mayor, at large and local district councils in Southeast Nashville and North Nashville. The candidates shared their platforms and positions on education, community development, economic growth, policing, transit, inclusivity and much more.
